The HDD8000S is a Seagate SkyHawk 8TB SATA surveillance hard drive for video storage systems. It uses the ST8000VX0022 model with an 8 TB formatted capacity, a SATA 6 Gb/s interface and a 256 MB cache.
It is intended for continuous security recording environments where storage needs to support multi-drive operation, streaming video workloads and drive health monitoring. It supports 24×7 operation, S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and a rated workload of less than 180 TB per year.
