The WD44PURZ is a 4TB WD Purple 3.5 inch surveillance hard drive for continuous mainstream video recording. It uses a SATA 6 Gb/s interface, CMR recording technology, Advanced Format support and a 128 MB cache.
It is built for DVR and NVR environments where always-on recording, multiple camera streams and surveillance-class reliability are required. WD Purple features include AllFrame firmware, up to 64 HD camera support, a 180 TB/year workload rating and support for up to 16 drive bays.
